Defendant, Guy Tobias LeGrande, was indicted for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He was tried capitally at the 15 April 1996 Criminal Session of Superior Court, Stanly County, and was found guilty of first-degree murder on the basis of premeditation and deliberation and on the basis of lying in wait, and guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.
