Mack C. Wells was indicted in the Circuit Court of Scott County for capital murder committed while engaged in the commission of the crime of felonious abuse and/or battery of a child. The case was transferred upon motion to the Circuit Court of Leake County, where on September 27, 1995, a jury found Wells guilty as charged.
