For the reasons assigned this day in the companion case of State v. Consuela Gaines Thomas, 95-1646 (La.App. 3 Cir. 5/8/96), 680 So.2d 37, the conviction of Gordon Ray Thomas is reversed, his sentence is vacated, and the case remanded for a new trial.
