This is a patent case. Plaintiff The Johns Hopkins University ("Hopkins") owns U.S. Patent No. 4,965,204 (the "`204 patent"). Hopkins has licensed the `204 patent to plaintiffs Baxter Healthcare Corporation ("Baxter") and Becton Dickinson and Company ("Becton Dickinson").
