This unauthorized appeal from a nonfinal order is treated as a petition for writ of certiorari. Petitioner, J.S.S., the natural father of J.D.L., asserts that the trial court erred in failing to appoint counsel for him during the instant dependency proceedings. Petitioner failed to demonstrate that the denial of the request for appointed counsel constituted a departure from the essential requirements of law. See In re Guardianship of A.P.,
