Thaddeus Clements was charged by bill of indictment with second degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. A jury found the defendant guilty of manslaughter, and the trial judge sentenced him to serve twenty-one years at hard labor. The defendant appealed, and in an unpublished opinion, this Court affirmed the conviction but vacated the sentence and remanded the case to the trial court for resentencing. State v.
