In the early morning hours of February 15, 1985, 20-year-old Renita Wright was raped and strangled to death. Her body was found later that day at the door leading to the roof of 1357 Washington Avenue, a 20-floor building in a Bronx housing project owned and operated by the New York City Housing Authority.
