Defendant and five co-defendants were originally charged by indictment (CR-157256) with twenty-one property crimes, including fraudulent schemes, theft, trafficking in stolen property, altering and/or removing vehicle identification numbers (VINs), and conducting an illegal enterprise. The charges arose out of an undercover investigation of local "chop shops" jointly conducted by the Phoenix Police Department and the Arizona Department...
