The plaintiff, Mr. Billy Wayne Diez, filed suit against Schwegmann Giant Supermarkets, Inc. (Schwegmann), alleging that he was injured when he slipped on liquid soap and fell in defendant's store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on January 14, 1991. The plaintiff's wife, Mrs. Sheila G.
