Rich, M.D.; Susan Bowden, R.N.; and Providence Hospital, alleging that they had negligently provided Lillian Olsen with medical care and treatment. The jury rendered a verdict for the defendants. The Olsens moved for a new trial, arguing that the trial court had erred in overruling their objection to the composition of the jury, based on Batson v. Kentucky,
