This civil action was initiated by Mable L. Ford ("Ford") in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County on November 23, 1994. Ford brought the action in her own right and as Administratrix of the Estate of her late daughter, Shawntee L. Ford ("Shawntee"). On March 8, 1994, two year old Shawntee was beaten to death by her father, Maurice Booker, at the Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge in Pittsburgh...
