The appellant, Jerry Platt, was charged with the sale of cocaine in violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. Following a trial by jury, he was convicted of the offense and sentenced to life imprisonment.1 Platt subsequently filed a motion for new trial, and the motion was denied by the trial court.
