Eula Faye King and her children (the Kings) brought this diversity malpractice action after Franklin J. King, Jr., their husband and father died of a heart attack. The district court1 entered judgment upon a jury verdict in favor of the defendant doctors on the malpractice claim and a directed verdict dismissing the Kings' claimed cause of action under 42 U.S.C. section 1395dd.
