The district court, sitting without a jury, convicted Jason P. LeFever of unlawful evasion in the first degree, a class A misdemeanor. AS 11.56.340. LeFever appealed his conviction to the superior court, contending that the district court should have granted his motion for acquittal on the ground that AS 11.56.340 does not apply to evasion of detention for an adjudication of juvenile delinquency.
