The appellant, Robert James Davenport, was charged by separate indictments with the first degree rape of his wife, the first degree rape of his 12-year-old stepdaughter, and the first degree sexual abuse of his wife. He was convicted of all three charges and was sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment on each of the rape convictions and to 2 years' imprisonment on the sexual abuse conviction.
