OPINION

HAIRE, Judge.

In this appeal, we consider whether the trial court correctly determined that the appellant was in default, and, if so, whether that default was due to excusable neglect.

Appellee Baker International Associates, Inc. (Baker) commenced this action to recover from appellant Shanwick International Corp. (Shanwick) amounts due on loans made by Baker to Shanwick. The summons and complaint were served on Shanwick on August 31, 1990...
