After selling drugs and a gun to an undercover federal agent, defendant-appellant Joseph Patrick Brewster pled guilty to a two-count indictment charging him with distribution of cocaine, see 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1) (1988), and with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, see 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) (1988).
