The defendant, Gordon T. Burke & Sons, Inc. (Burke), a general contractor, appeals from a jury's award of damages in Superior Court (Mohl, J.) to the plaintiff, Independent Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (IMC), for breach of contract and defamation. We affirm the award for breach of contract because IMC's injuries were a reasonably foreseeable consequence of Burke's breach and because lost profits were proved with reasonable certainty.
