This suit arises out of an automobile accident. On April 14, 1986, plaintiff, Donald Christopher Alford, was a guest passenger in a patrol car driven by Lawrence Woods, Jr. and owned by the City of New Iberia. At the time of the accident, both plaintiff and Woods were police officers employed by the New Iberia City Police Department.
