On June 22, 1992, the defendant, Marcus McPherson, was charged by bill of information with one count of purse snatching in violation of L.S.A.-R.S. 14:65.1. At his arraignment on July 10, 1992, the defendant pled not guilty. On December 10, 1992, after a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty as charged.
