FACTS
The incident which precipitated this litigation occurred in the early morning hours of October 2, 1985. Shortly after midnight, a young woman entered the emergency room of the respondent hospital North Las Vegas Hospital ("NLVH"), complaining of chest pain and shortness of breath. She was seen by respondent Andrew Lapica, the emergency physician on duty. Lapica diagnosed the patient as suffering from a possible pneumohemothorax...
