After trial before a Superior Court jury, the defendants were found guilty on indictments charging them with larceny of $3,980 and of using and threatening to use their powers as Boston police officers to extort money.2 On appeal, the defendants claim the judge erred by: (1) denying their motions for required findings of not guilty; (2) advising a prosecution witness, in the presence of the jury and during cross-examination...
