Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The felony complaint in this matter was filed in the Village Court of the Village of Tuckahoe on March 31, 1980, and we agree with the hearing court that this represented the "commencement of a criminal action" pursuant to CPL 30.30 (1) (a). Thus, this act began the running of the six-month speedy trial period applicable to felonies (see, People v Osgood, 52 N.Y.2d 37, 44-45)...
