In this case, an employer who claimed to have fired an employee because of his poor interpersonal skills was found to have discriminated against that employee on account of his age. In 1986, Joseph Giacoletto was 58 years old and had been a supervisor for Amax Zinc Company, Inc. ("Amax") for approximately 14 years.
