Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Cook County, defendant, Jamie Davis, was convicted of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (Ill.Rev. Stat.1989, ch. 56½, par. 1401). At the sentencing hearing, defendant also entered pleas of guilty to possession of a controlled substance (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 56½, par. 1402) and to unlawful use of a weapon (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38...
