John Patino was convicted, after a jury trial in the Eastern District of New York before Judge Anna Diggs Taylor,1 of conspiracy to kidnap in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1201(c) (1988), and of using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 924(c)(1) (1988).
