Defendant, Anthony Kendall, pleaded guilty to the offenses of attempted murder (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, pars. 8-4(a), 9-1(a)(1)) and armed robbery (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 18-2), and he was sentenced to 35 years' imprisonment.
