Respondent Nancy LaFontaine commenced the present action on behalf of her daughter, Antounette Hopkins, against Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Co., alleging Hopkins was injured by Katherine Batchelor, Empire's insured, and that a default judgment had been entered against Batchelor in favor of Hopkins and LaFontaine (respondents).
