Defendant was convicted after an altercation on the first floor of the main branch of the New York Public Library on 42d Street and Fifth Avenue. Defendant, upon being asked to move out of an off-limits area on the first floor by security personnel, verbally abused these personnel, and finally drew a knife, with which he threatened a security guard.
