This case arises from events that transpired while plaintiff, Janet Tomcik, was in the custody and control of defendant Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Plaintiff alleges that certain acts and omissions of defendant's employees constituted medical negligence. More particularly, it is alleged that defendant's medical employees failed to initially diagnose cancer in plaintiff's breast, and also failed to act upon her continued complaints...
