Sonya Moore, committed for a competency evaluation under sec. 971.14(5), Stats., was released from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute (Winnebago) when she had been confined for a period of time equal to her potential maximum sentence less "good time" credit.2 The state appeals from the order releasing her, arguing that Wisconsin statutes do not provide for good time credit for persons...
