Eighteen-year-old Jeff Moen and his father John Moen purchased a 1957 Chevy on June 2, 1988. The plan was for father and son to spend some time together fixing up the classic car for Jeff to drive. After about two months of work, the car was nearly ready to go. Although it still lacked insurance and license plates, Jeff was anxious to show it off to a friend.
