Justice JOHNSON delivered the opinion of the court:

After a bench trial, defendant, Henry Dawson, was found guilty of two counts of unlawful use of a firearm by a felon. (Ill. Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 24-1.1.) Defendant was sentenced to two concurrent 3-year terms of imprisonment.
