OPINION

THOMAS, Justice.

A jury convicted Roderick Dewayne Gaines of the offense of burglary of a habitation and assessed punishment, enhanced by a prior felony conviction, at ninety-nine years' confinement and a $10,000 fine. In three points of error, Gaines generally contends that the trial court erred in: (a) determining that the State did not exercise its peremptory challenges on two veniremembers because of race in violation of Batson
