Defendant, Robert Puhl (Puhl), was indicted on 12 counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, paras. 12-14(a)(3), 12-14(b)(1)) and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 12-16(c)(1)).
