The defendant was tried on true bills of indictment charging him with robbery with a dangerous weapon and with the first-degree murder of Willie Hubert Tripp, Sr. The State's evidence at trial tended to show that Willie Hubert Tripp owned and operated Tripp's Service Station in Greenville.
