Defendant Earl C. Jones was a regular customer of Nick's Bar located at 5600 Lansdowne Avenue in Philadelphia and was acquainted with the victim, Sabrina Best, who was a barmaid there. On December 3, 1988, a Saturday night, defendant went into the bar, put some money down on the bar and told the victim that it was hers.
