At issue in this action are the rights to possession and ownership of the Sevso Treasure (Treasure), a collection of 14 antique Roman silver pieces crafted in the fourth or fifth century A.D., and believed to have been hidden in the seventh century until unearthed in the 1970's. The collection was delivered to the Swiss auctioneer and the art dealer Sotheby's AG. in 1989 by defendant, the Trustee of the Marquess of Northampton...
