Dennis Williams was charged by bill of information with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 A. He pled not guilty and elected to be tried by a jury, which convicted him as charged. Subsequently, on December 16, 1988, defendant was sentenced to imprisonment at hard labor for a term of twenty-five years.
