COATS, Judge.

Carl Thompson was convicted, following a jury trial, of one count of first-degree murder, AS 11.41.100, an unclassified felony, and of one count of tampering with physical evidence, AS 11.56.610, a class C felony. Judge Jay Hodges sentenced Thompson to ninety-nine years on the first-degree murder conviction and to a consecutive five years on the tampering with physical evidence conviction.
