These actions arise out of an event occurring on October 30, 1985, when Sylvia Seegrist shot several persons in the Springfield Mall, resulting in the deaths of three of them and the wounding of several others. Plaintiffs began these actions against the owners of the mall and several other defendants, alleging that the injuries and deaths were caused by variously described acts of negligence on the part of defendants.
