This suit involves a vehicular collision which occurred on February 28, 1984 at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 39 in St. Bernard Parish. Plaintiff, Rachel Runnels, was driving in a westerly direction on Louisiana Highway 39 and was stopped due to traffic congestion when her car was struck from behind by a car driven by the defendant, August Esteves.
