A jury convicted Joseph Barrett (Barrett) of murder with the use of a deadly weapon, kidnapping with the use of a deadly weapon, and grand larceny auto. The district court sentenced Barrett to serve consecutively, two life terms without the possibility of parole, two terms of twelve years, and one term of eight years for the murder, kidnapping and grand larceny auto, respectively.
