Defendant Neal was charged with aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping. He was first tried on the aggravated rape charge and convicted of sexual battery, and then tried for aggravated kidnapping and found guilty as charged. On the aggravated kidnapping charge, he was sentenced to the mandatory term of life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence, with this sentence to run concurrently...
