Earnest Smith, a prisoner in state custody, brought a petition for writ of habeas corpus alleging several grounds for relief under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. In dismissing the petition, the district court1 held that several of the grounds were procedurally barred and that the remaining grounds were without merit. We affirm.
