On the night of August 15, 1981, three youths broke into the Meadowbrook Junior High School in Newton and started fires which resulted in extensive damage to the school. The city of Newton brought an action of tort for damages against the three youths, Eric R. Krasnigor, Michael Masterson, and Leslie Alberts.
