Safeco Insurance Companies (Safeco) brought a subrogation action against Chris Weisgerber to recover amounts paid to Stanley and Anita LaFrenz on account of a fire allegedly caused by the negligence of Chris Weisgerber, the tenant in a residence rented to him by the LaFrenzes.
