In these consolidated cases, both the Second Injury Fund and Asplundh Tree Expert Company, along with its insurer, Aetna Casualty & Surety Company, appeal the decision of the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board that reversed the finding of the hearing referee. The WCAB concluded that plaintiff was totally and permanently disabled on the basis of incurable insanity as of January 29, 1970.
