Carolyn Goode Charlton filed a motion for judgment against her former employer, Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation. Invoking the provisions of Code § 65.1-40.1 (Cum.Supp.1985),1 the plaintiff alleged that the defendant had discharged her because she "had incurred a work-related injury or disease for which she intended to file a claim" under the Virginia Workers' Compensation Act.
