On March 25, 1983, Sonya Kroll, wife of plaintiff Stephen Kroll, was admitted through the emergency room to the coronary care unit of Bethesda Naval Hospital. Examination revealed chest pain and atrial fibrillation. She remained in the coronary care unit until her discharge on March 27, 1983.
